Jacob & Emily Pennsylvania Elopement

As a florist who’s spent years translating love stories into petals and stems, I’ve been dreaming of a venue precisely like this — and Pocono Sweethearts did not disappoint. Truly one of Pennsylvania’s most enchanting elopement spots, it feels like the kind of place where vows echo through ivy-draped archways and time slows just enough for two people to become their own little universe.

When Jacob and Emlity asked me to design florals for their intimate ceremony, I knew we could lean into something unexpected: a soft, romantic palette that would make the venue’s cherubic backdrop sing. I wanted their flowers to feel whimsical and delicate but still have presence — a pastel tableau with a playful, slightly gothic edge that’s very much the Gothic Ties signature.

For the ceremony installations and the bridal bouquet I wove together delphinium for vertical drama, expression roses for lush, emotional texture, scabiosa for that airy, antique feel, and ranunculus for voluptuous, layered charm. The mix gave us contrast — tall, airy blue delphinium against the buttery blush of roses and the pillowy ranunculus — while the scabiosa brought a whisper of vintage romance that complemented the stone and plaster cherubs behind them.

The result was a ceremony scene that felt both timeless and modern: pastel, yes, but with depth, movement, and a touch of theatricality that allowed the cherubs to pop from the backdrop rather than get lost in it. Emlity’s bouquet echoed that same balance — romantic and soft at first glance, but full of detail and texture when you look closer.

Working at Pocono Sweethearts reminded me why I love elopements: the scale makes every design choice sing, and the intimacy makes each bloom matter. Jacob and Emlity’s day was a perfect match for my aesthetic — tender, a little whimsical, and memorably beautiful.
