Dan & Candace’s Brookside Country Club Wedding
Dan and Candace’s Brookside Country Club wedding was the kind of event that made everyone gasp the moment they stepped into the ballroom. The Brookside Country Club wedding brimmed with candlelit elegance and a palette of deep purples and crisp whites that set the tone for an unforgettable evening. As they glided across the dance floor amongst all of their friends and family, it was clear this Brookside Country Club wedding had been crafted with a devotion to mood and detail that matched their personalities.
Designing Dan and Candace’s floral arrangements was a joy that felt personal from the very first consultation. They were the first friends to trust me with creating the flowers for their wedding, and that trust let me stretch into more daring, romantic combinations—velvety purple tones paired with pale white roses, sprigs of dusty lavender, and unexpected accents like baby blue eucalyptus for contrast. Every bouquet and centerpiece was arranged with a little theatrical flourish that felt perfectly them. I was also the maid of honor for this wedding, which made it even more special. I got to spend the whole day with Candace and Dan and really share the magic with them, while relieving some of their stress for the day. Something I love being able to do for not only friends, but my clients as well.
Working on their wedding gave me the confidence to turn a long-held passion into a true profession. Seeing the way guests visibly reacted to the florals, and hearing Dan and Candace describe how the arrangements made them feel, revealed that my design choices carried genuine emotional weight. That first bit of validation from close friends became the seed of my business: it taught me how to balance whimsy with refinement, how to translate a couple’s story into petals and foliage, and how to deliver floral experiences that feel like natural extensions of the people being celebrated.
Looking back, I cherish that collaboration not only for the beauty we created together but for the honest lessons it offered. Dan and Candace’s wedding helped me define a signature style—rich, velvety purples softened by crisp whites and always finished with a slightly unconventional twist—that I carry into every event now. I’ll always be grateful that they invited me to be part of their day; their faith in my vision was the vital first step toward building what has become my livelihood, and every bouquet I make since then still carries a little of their influence.
